From the Executive Director
Spring 2009
Dear Friends,
Spring is here and I invite you to visit the Museum. The gardens are filled with daffodils, tulips, and iris, and Tibetan prayer flags are strewn through the trees. There are many exciting events planned for the spring and summer including concerts and film screenings. Please see the calendar page for a complete listing.
The Museum's current exhibit, Tibetan Portrait: The Power of Compassion, features 17 portraits by renowned contemporary photographer, Phil Borges. The portraits tell the stories of Tibetan nomads, children, monks, and the Dalai Lama. There are audio recordings of mantra chanting, and "please touch" objects such as a bell and dorjee, yak wool, and Tibetan butter churn. The exhibit will remain on view through December 31, 2010.
On a personal note, I want to express my sincerest thanks to all of the members and donors who continue to support the work of the Museum. Your donations are essential to our mission of collecting and exhibiting the art and culture of Tibet and the Himalayan region. I greatly appreciate your continued support.
Thank you for visiting the website and I look forward to seeing you at the Museum.
Sincerely,

Meg Ventrudo
